Rooftop Photovoltaic systems Monitoring

In the framework of Med-EcoSuRe project, photovoltaic (PV) solar power plants were installed on the roof top of different buildings at An-Najah National University, Palestine with a total capacity of 222 kW.

These power plants installed at the Old-Campus buildings and Faculty of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine building will enable to reduce the CO2 emissions by around 291 Tons/year and the university’s electricity bill as well as the use of diesel fuel during the long hours of electricity cuts.

The team at An Najah University implemented a monitoring and evaluation process in order to assess the results of the grid-connected PV power plants installed:

1. The PV system installed at the Old-Campus buildings is monitored using Fimer Aurora Vision interface, which displays the size, status and performance of the plant, total production and greenhouse gas statistics, inspects event logs and faults information. The web interface monitors the PowerOne ABB Aurora inverters performance and show the daily, monthly and annual yield using diagrams and table formats.

2. The SungrowiSolarCloud is managing the PV system installed at Faculty of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine, to visualize the power flow chart, real-time information; current power, power installed, yield. The monitoring system enables also to display analysis, automated reports, accurate position of faults and troubleshooting.
